Storage Vauxhall Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Storage Vauxhall in relation to the financial year ending 31 December and sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and supply chains. Storage Vauxhall recognises that modern slavery is a severe violation of fundamental human rights and we are committed to acting ethically, transparently, and with integrity in all our business dealings.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach
Storage Vauxhall operates a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and child labour. We expect the same high standards from all those we work with, including suppliers, contractors, and business partners. No commercial objective or cost saving will ever justify practices that compromise the dignity, safety, or freedom of any individual. Any breach or suspected breach of this policy is treated as a serious matter and may result in the termination of contracts or relationships.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Storage Vauxhall provides storage and related services to individuals and businesses. Our supply chains include facilities management, security, cleaning, utilities, maintenance contractors, and the procurement of equipment and materials. While we consider our sector to be at relatively low risk of modern slavery, we acknowledge that risks can exist at various tiers of the supply chain, particularly where subcontracting, temporary labour, or international sourcing are involved. We are committed to identifying and reducing these risks proactively.
Supplier Standards and Due Diligence
We are progressively integrating modern slavery considerations into our supplier onboarding and management processes. Where appropriate, suppliers are required to confirm that they comply with all relevant labour, employment, and human rights legislation in the jurisdictions in which they operate. We seek assurances that suppliers do not use forced, bonded, or involuntary labour and that they provide safe working conditions, fair wages, and lawful working hours. Storage Vauxhall reserves the right to decline or discontinue relationships with suppliers who are unable or unwilling to demonstrate adequate safeguards against modern slavery.
Supplier Audits and Monitoring
Storage Vauxhall conducts proportionate risk-based audits and assessments of key suppliers. These assessments may include requests for documented policies, workforce information, evidence of right-to-work checks, and details of recruitment practices. Where we identify elevated risks, we may undertake more detailed reviews or request remediation plans with clear timelines. Failure to address identified issues may lead to the suspension or termination of contracts. We aim to work collaboratively with suppliers who are committed to improvement, but we will not tolerate any form of modern slavery in our supply chain.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Storage Vauxhall encourages staff, suppliers, and other stakeholders to raise concerns about any suspected modern slavery or human trafficking connected to our operations or supply chains. Concerns can be reported to line managers, senior management, or via internal reporting mechanisms that allow individuals to report issues confidentially. We are committed to protecting anyone who raises a genuine concern from retaliation or detrimental treatment and to investigating all reports promptly, impartially, and fairly. Where appropriate, we will involve relevant authorities and cooperate fully with any external investigations.
Training and Awareness
We seek to raise awareness of modern slavery risks within our organisation and, where relevant, among our suppliers. Training and guidance are provided to key staff involved in procurement, facilities management, and supplier engagement so they can recognise potential indicators of exploitation and know how to respond. We periodically communicate our expectations and standards to employees and business partners to reinforce our zero-tolerance approach and ensure our values are consistently applied.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Storage Vauxhall is committed to the ongoing development of our approach to tackling modern slavery. We review this Modern Slavery Statement and our related policies and procedures at least annually to assess their effectiveness and to identify opportunities for improvement. This review considers changes in legislation, industry good practice, the outcomes of supplier audits, and any issues raised through our reporting channels. Where necessary, we update our measures, processes, and contractual requirements to strengthen protections. This Statement has been approved by the leadership of Storage Vauxhall, who take overall responsibility for ensuring that it is implemented and maintained throughout the organisation and our supply chains.
